Accessibility Statement

Our commitment

The HG Collective CIC is committed to making this website accessible to as many people as possible, including disabled people and people using assistive technologies.

We are designing and developing the site with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 in mind, working towards level AA.

Using this website

We want you to be able to:

• zoom in without text becoming unreadable or content overlapping;
• navigate the website using a keyboard;
• use a screen reader to understand headings, links, forms and images;
• read text with sufficient colour contrast;
• understand links and buttons from their wording; and
• access the site on phones, tablets and desktop screens.

Your browser and device may also provide tools that let you change text size, colours, contrast or how content is read aloud.

If you need information in another format

If you need information from this website in an alternative format—such as an accessible PDF, large print, an easier-to-read version or another format—email hello@hgcollective.org.uk.

Please tell us which page or document you need and the format that would work best for you. We will consider your request and respond as soon as we reasonably can.

Reporting an accessibility problem

If you find an accessibility problem, cannot use part of the website or think we are not meeting accessibility requirements, please email hello@hgcollective.org.uk.

It helps if you include the web address, a short description of the problem, the device or browser you were using and any assistive technology involved. You do not need to provide information you are uncomfortable sharing.

Current accessibility status

This website has not yet undergone a formal independent accessibility audit. We therefore do not currently claim full conformance with WCAG 2.2 level AA.

We are reviewing the site as it is developed and will update this statement after further accessibility testing.

Known limitations

We are currently aware of the following areas that require further work or checking:

• Downloadable documents: some PDFs may not yet be fully accessible to screen-reader users or people who need text to reflow. Contact us if you need an accessible alternative.
• Third-party services: forms, video players, newsletter tools or other embedded services may have accessibility limitations outside our direct control.
• Final production testing: forms, error messages, focus order and keyboard navigation must be retested when the production website and integrations are complete.

What we are doing to improve accessibility

As the website develops, our work includes:

• using clear headings, labels and descriptive link text;
• checking keyboard navigation and visible focus states;
• providing meaningful alternative text for informative images;
• checking colour contrast, text resizing and responsive layouts;
• reviewing forms and error messages;
• improving the accessibility of downloadable resources; and
• reviewing this statement at least annually and after significant website changes.

Technical information

The HG Collective CIC is responsible for the accessibility of this website. The site is intended to use valid, semantic HTML and modern CSS, and to work with current versions of widely used browsers and assistive technologies.

Accessibility is an ongoing process. New pages, documents and third-party integrations should be checked before publication and included in future reviews.
